When the Magi Came to Town

In Matthew 2 we read about the visit of the Magi to Jerusalem in search of the newborn King of the Jews.  We read that Herod and all Jerusalem were disturbed by the arrival of the Magi and their question about where the King of the Jews would be born.  But they were disturbed for different reasons.  Herod was disturbed because he was worried about his position.  The people were disturbed because they saw the possibility that the Messiah might bring about an end to the Roman occupation.

What is my response when God's word is revealed to me?  My response indicates my focus.  If I'm glad about it, then I am open to His voice.  If I'm unhappy, it might indicate that I'm focused on myself and my own desires and ambitions.

Lord help me to hear your voice today and respond with joy and enthusiasm to the path down which You wish to lead me.

I'm just a person who seeks God and wants to make Him known.
